Loaded Bacon Cauliflower Steak

Ingredients

Units Scale

2 medium cauliflower heads cut into 4 X 1″ steaks

4 tbsp Olive oil

2 tsp Hot Under The Kilt Acadian Cajun Seasoning

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

6 Slices Tony’s bacon

1 cup grated Cheddar Cheese

4 Green onions

1 Avocado, sliced


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Drizzle the cauliflower steaks with the olive oil and season with the Hot Under The Kilt, salt and pepper.
  • Heat a sauté pan and fry the bacon until it is just beginning to crisp. Transfer the bacon to a parchment lined bacon sheet and place in the oven.
  • Place the cauliflower steaks into the bacon fat and cook on both sides until golden brown.
  • remove from the pan and add to the baking sheet with the bacon, top each steak with once slice of bacon and 1/2 of the cheese. Remove the remining bacon and add back to the saut pan to finish crisping. Place the baking pan back into the oven.
  • Once the bacon has become crisp remove it from the pan and crumble it.
  • remove the cauliflower steaks from the oven, top with the green onion, remining cheese and sliced avocado.
