If you’re a fan of tacos, but looking to switch up your protein sources, turkey tacos are an excellent option. Not only are they a healthy alternative to traditional beef tacos, but they’re also incredibly flavorful and easy to make. Here’s everything you need to know about turkey tacos:
Health Benefits of Turkey Tacos:
Turkey is an excellent source of lean protein, making it a great option for those looking to maintain a healthy diet. It’s also low in fat and calories, making it a perfect choice for those who want to reduce their intake of red meat. In addition, turkey is a good source of essential nutrients such as vitamin B6, niacin, and phosphorus.
To make turkey tacos, you’ll need ground turkey, a great taco seasoning like our Big Cove Taco Enhancer, tortillas, and your choice of toppings. Common toppings include diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, grated cheese, salsa, and avocado.
Start by browning the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Once the turkey is cooked through, add the taco seasoning and a small amount of water, and continue cooking until the seasoning is well combined.
Next, warm your tortillas either in the oven or on a skillet. Once the tortillas are warm, fill them with the seasoned turkey and your desired toppings. Fold the tortillas in half and enjoy!
Turkey tacos are perfect for a quick and easy weeknight dinner. They’re also a great option for meal prep, as they can be made in advance and reheated throughout the week.
