Holiday Flan

Ingredients

  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 can ADL evaporated milk
  • 1 can ADL sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Place 1 cup sugar and water in a saute pan over medium high heat for approximately 10 minutes, until the caramel turns a rich caramel color.
  2. Carefully pour the caramel into a flan pan, being sure to coat everything and set aside.
  3. Add the eggs, ADL evaporated milk, ADL sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, remaining ½ cup sugar to a blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Fill the base of the bottom half on the flan pan with water, pour the egg mixture over the caramel and set the pan on the base.
  5. Cook over medium low heat for 45 minutes. To test the flan insert a knife, if the knife comes out clean the flan is ready.
