  • Yield: Serves 4-6 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale

Air Fryer Beef Eater Fries

  • 5 large russets, washed and cut into thick fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Guinness Batter

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup corn starch
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 2 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs ( optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups Guinness Stout
  • 2 lbs fresh haddock fillets

Instructions

Air Fryer Beef Eater Fries

  1. Place potatoes in a bowl full of water and soak for 45 minutes.
  2. Set air fryer to the air crisp setting and pre heat for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
  3. Drain the fries and dry very well. Toss in the olive oil.
  4. Place in the air crisper basket and set the timer for 30 minutes.
  5. Shake the basket every five minutes.
  6. Serve immediately.

Guinness Beer Batter

  1. heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees
  2. Combine the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Remove 2 cups of the batter ( enough for 2 lbs of fish) place the remaining mix in an air tight container and store in a cool dry place for up to 2 months *.
  4. Add eggs ( if using) and Guinness to the dry ingredients and mix until very smooth.
  5. Dip the haddock fillets into the batter letting excess batter drip off, slowly submerge in the hot oil and cook until golden brown.
  6. Remove the fish and place on a paper towel lined plate. Repeat until all of the fish has been fried.
  7. Serve with the air fryer beef eater fries.

Notes

Omitting the eggs makes a crispier, but darker fish.

If you have fish left over reheat it in the air fryer and it will just as crispy as it was when it was first made.

*For each cup of batter mix you will need to add 1 egg ( optional) and 3/4 cup of Guinness of beer of your choice.
