Gourmet Turkey Burgers with Spinach & White Cheddar
When the sun’s out and the grill’s hot, there’s no excuse for a boring burger. These turkey burgers are lean, loaded, and anything but basic.
We took the humble ground turkey and gave it the VIP treatment — folding in finely chopped spinach for color and moisture, sharp white cheddar for richness, and a hint of Dijon and Worcestershire to pull everything together. The result? A juicy, golden-seared burger that’s every bit as satisfying as a classic beef patty — but with a lighter finish.
The garlic and onion bring warmth, the breadcrumbs hold it all together, and that cheddar… well, it melts right into every bite. Tucked into a toasted bun with crisp lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a swipe of mayo? You’ve got a summer showstopper that doesn’t need a deep fryer or a grill to impress.
Whether you’re making them stovetop or throwing them on the barbecue, these burgers hold their shape, stay tender, and bring serious flavor. We like to serve them with roasted potato wedges or a crisp salad on the side — and maybe a cold beer to wash it all down.

Gourmet Turkey Burgers
- Yield: Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for cooking
- 4 burger buns
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, lettuce, pickles, mayo
Instructions
Prepare the Patty Mixture:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until evenly combined.
- Form the Patties:
- Shape the mixture into 4 firm, evenly sized patties. This ensures they hold together well during cooking.
- Cook the Patties:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and drizzle it with olive oil. Once the oil is hot, place the chicken patties in the skillet.
- Cook each patty for 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and develop a golden-brown crust.
- Rest the Patties:
- Remove the patties from the skillet and transfer them to a plate. Let them rest for a few minutes before assembling the burgers.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Place each patty on a bun and add toppings.
