- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb beef, cut into cubes
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 turnip, chopped into 1” pieces
- 1 cup cubed potatoes
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp herbes salees
- 1 tbsp Badass Burger Booster
- 1 tsp summer savory
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 28 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 8 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup barley
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a heavy bottomed soup pot.
- Saute the beef until brown.
- Add the onions, carrots,celery, turnip and potatoes, cook, stirring, for 8-10 minutes.
- Add the mustard, herbes salee, badass Burger Booster, summer savory, bay leaves ,brown sugar, and pepper, mix well.
- Add the tomatoes and broth, mix well and bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer.
- Add the barley and cook for 45-60 minutes until the soup has thickened slightly.
