Black Beans and Rice

Black Beans and Rice

- Yield: Serves 4-6 1x
Ingredients

- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb sausage meat
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 4 green onions, diced
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 3 celery stalks, diced
- 3 tsp Hot Under The Kilt Acadian Cajun seasoning ( or Cajun seasoning of your choice)
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1 19 oz can black beans
- 4 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil over medium high heat, sauté the sausage meat until no longer pink.
- Add the green pepper, green onions, celery stalks and Hot Under The Kilt, sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the rice. black beans, and chicken broth.
- Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 30-35 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 3-35 minutes
